Celtic unicorn line art

So I wanted to draw a unicorn. Here it is.

This was originally a faint idea I had for an entry to the mythical creatures line art contest from #color-me-club. But I guess I didn't like it enough to make it truly epic. Also, I realized I don't know balls about celtic knots, even though I really wanted them to be part of the composition here. So I googled for a bit and found some patterns at a site for free resources and referenced those. So the patterns aren't mine, credit goes to whomever created them. I guess they were there as patterns for embroideries or something like that.

The whole thing is made with digital media, in GIMP. Because it was an idea for the line art contest, it wasn't supposed to be any more than just the line art, but somewhere along the way I thought it'd be a good idea to put some color on it as well. Which, of course, wasn't all that great an idea, because I kind of suck at coloring things digitally. You can see my miserable attempt here: [link]

So yeah. There you go. I don't think I'll submit this to the contest, partly because the celtic patterns I used aren't original and partly because I don't think it will do. I'm not satisfied enough.
