SO THERE WE GO! Finally! A real finished piece from me. Guys, this is the first time that has happened in forever. But it's a good one, ain't it? ^^
The photo did make it have a bit of a yellow-ish glow. So the real thing is a bit more grey than this one. But not at all by much; it's quite a good likeness.
It's a commissioned piece for Sophiedragon of the dragon character of her boyfriend, if I'm correct. I'm not quite sure if I got the colors right. I worked from this little ref here: [link] But as you can see, that does not really show everything. So I wasn't really sure about markings and such. She said he had some stripes though, so I put in as many tiger stripes as I could without upsetting the picture (they're on the base of the tail and on the outer wings, for anyone who didn't notice X) ). Belly's red, back's dark grey, as are the outer wings. I hope that's visible enough. Crappy photograph and all that.
She asked me to do it in watercolor. I hesitated, because I drew the sketch on a very thin type of paper by accident. But I did it anyway, and I think it turned out... alright. I still have to remove the tape, though, so we'll have to see if it wrinkles the paper an awful lot :/
Anyway, I really hope she likes it! Fingers crossed everybody ^^
medium used: watercolors and my trusty mechanical pencil.
Congratulations!! This submitted art piece has qualified for the Excellent Art folder in #Dragon-Fanatics and will be posted for the entire group to see in our Weekly Spotlight blog!
Have a Great week!
