Green 'n white by Mystalia Green 'n white by Mystalia
This looks very pretty on paper. But the scanner and the computer just don't seem to like it. I can't really put my finger on what is wrong though... It looks so different from the original, but it's still the same. I don't know what to change to make it look better. :/

SO, I hope you can still see what belongs where X) The dragon is a returning character you can also see here: [link] and here: [link] . I suppose you could call her a character of mine, even though she isn't really. There is no background story here; I just like to draw this dragon, that's all.

And I wanted to do some spectacular motion pose. I didn't really succeed because I went a bit overboard with the hair X) But it looks good, if I may say so. Of course, I might be the only person who thinks that because I can still make out the tangled mess of hair everywhere X) I hope you guys can still see the pose too.

media used: black inking pens, colored pencils, mechanical pencil.

Ehm no, this is one of my two original characters and it's not up for adoption.

I was just thinking that just maybe if you would be able to give her some backstory or something else. What do you think?

Perhaps I'll give her some sort of story sometime, but I'm not sure if I will post it online anytime soon. I may just keep drawing pictures of her so people can form their own backstories of her in their heads =)

Thank you so much!

I didn't really know how much hair to add to the mane so I just kept going and going X) There is now way more hair than was originally intended, but it still looks okay, so that's good.

It's nice to see all of your faces (or comments) again. I haven't been able to be active here for quite a while. ^^

This looks nice, even after the scanner ;) (I know your irritation here, too often I've same problem). Anyway, the posing is good (and hard to draw, so points from here). There's some personal touch too! Good work :D

Oh my, yes. I think every artist who works with traditional media can feel my pain there X) I can't really put my finger on what is wrong, though. I'd change it if I knew, but I can't figure it out :/ It just looks a bit off.

I like the pose too, except maybe for the tail, which bends weirdly. But it's nothing too serious; it doesn't throw the drawing off. So all's good ^^ Thank you for the wonderful comment and for stopping by, of course!

There is waaaay more hair than was originally intended and I got kind of lost in it somewhere along the way O-o I was a bit confused where to color it and where not X) But it turned out alright in the end :la:

Thanks for stopping by!

xD It's funny how that happens. I have a tendency to do that to myself too xD. And yes, it turned out beautifully xD.
You're welcome~ :).

Gorgeous! Did you at the texture in Photoshop, or was the paper already like that?

Thank you!

I CAN make paper look like that. There are a few tutorials on how to do that lingering around on deviantart. I believe `PearlEden made one as well.

But I was lazy with this one X) I have run out of old-looking paper and was too lazy to make new ones. So I added a digital texture here (in gimp though, not photoshop X) ). I have no idea where the texture came from, though. I just picked it from somewhere in my ancient computer folders.

LOL - The floating hair gives this pose great motion. The motion is implied by all of those gorgeous curving lines. We see the wind as the dragon dances through it. :D

Thank you! ^^ I did try to create a lot of motion. I got kind of stuck in all the hair as I went along! X) But it turned out alright in the end, I think. There is way more hair then was originally intended, though.
